Term Paper 2

Going to see a movie with a friend that the both of you were looking forward to is the best movie experience ever. Back in start of 2023, a movie called Avatar: The Way Of Water came out. I went with my friend Hannah. We were both excited to see this movie because we are big Avatar fans. I can't remember that state of the world during that time, but from what I can remember, everything was pretty much normal. Everyone was just getting out of the habit of wearing a mask every day to every place they went. Our movie theater isn't a big one, but it is a decent size for a town with almost 10,000 people.

I got to the theater before my friend arrived so I went ahead and purchased my ticket. Unfortunately, I cannot find a picture of my ticket. I do remember me keeping it though. As I was waiting for my friend to get there, I went ahead and went into the movie to scope out good seats for the two of us. I was expecting to be a lot of people my age watching to movie but when I walked in, there was a good amount of elderly people. I don't know why but that gave me some sense of comfort. I remember me securing our seats about four rows from the huge screen, everyone else made themselves comfortable in the back of the room.

After I got our seats, I got a text from my friend saying that she had arrived so I got up and went to go get her. She was in the process of getting her ticket when I found her.

Now since the tickets were about 10 dollars, we decided that we weren't gonna buy any snacks from the concession and we brought our own snacks. We somehow got passed everyone without them knowing we were hiding snacks and headed to watch the movie. The movie itself was great. I absolutely loved it. I can't really explain the plot of the movie to someone who hasn't seen it because it ties in with the first Avatar movie. In the first Avatar movie, a character named Jake Sully was sent to a planet called Pandora for an experiment and scientific testing on a living species on this planet, this living species are called Navi. He fell in love with a Navi girl, Neytiri, and decided to stay there on the planet with her, betraying everyone he was working for. This led to a war between the human and Navi. The point was to kill Jake for betraying them. In the second Avatar movie, Jake has a family with Neytiri. They have two boys and two girls. The war between the humans and the Navi is still happening. They are still unable to kill Jake but unfortunately his oldest son, Neteyam, got killed. Neteyam was my favorite character so I was kind of hurt when he died. I did shed a tear or two. The whole movie gave such a comforting vibe it was like I was in the movie myself. In that moment I had forgot what the outside world was like, until the movie was over and I had to see what outside looked like again. Overall it was a great movie and I enjoy being in the Avatar fandom.

Right after, my mom made me go in Walmart for her and I absolutely hate going in Walmart but I got over it. The whole experience was really nice especially since I went with someone that is also a huge Avatar fan like me. It makes it 10x better that we are also best friends. Seriously though, the Avatar storyline is an interesting thing to get into and I 100% recommend it to anyone. I do hope that soon I'll be able to share another movie theater experience with my all of my friends this time around.
